Our Sun is a medium sized star. It uses Hydrogen as it's basic fuel to keep burning. In about 5.5 Billion years it will run out of most of it's fuel, due to which it will become a giant red star.

With time it will start expanding & consume Mercury & Venus. Finally, it will consume our home planet Earth.

In about 7.5 billion years from now, Sun will collapse into itself & end up as a white dwarf until it runs out of every bit of remaining fuel.
