Kali Bari Temple is located in Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. One of the most renowned places for worship in Northern India, it was built way back in 1845. This holy shrine is dedicated to Goddess Shyamala, a fearless incarnation of Godess Kali.

A blue wooden idol of Goddess Shyamala at an original altar was installed by some Bengali devotees who wanted to establish the abode of Goddess Kali in the beautiful precincts of Himachal Pradesh. The Goddess is worshipped in its various forms within this temple’s premises. The chief incarnations here are of Bhadrakali, Cchinnamasta, Rudrarani, Tara, Chamunda, Durga, Himavati, Kumari Sati, Kamakshya, Meenakshi and Uma.
