Buddha said, I do not care to know your various theories about God. What is the use of discussing all the subtle doctrines about the soul? Do good and be good.

Teach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.

    *Compassion for all

    1. Right View. The right way to think about life is to see the world through the eyes of the Buddha--with wisdom and compassion.

    2. Right Thought. We are what we think. Clear and kind thoughts build good, strong characters.

    3. Right Speech. By speaking kind and helpful words, we are respected and trusted by everyone.

    4. Right Conduct. No matter what we say, others know us from the way we behave. Before we criticize others, we should first see what we do ourselves.

    5. Right Livelihood. This means choosing a job that does not hurt others. The Buddha said, "Do not earn your living by harming others. Do not seek happiness by making others unhappy." (doesn't says humans or animals)

    6. Right Effort. A worthwhile life means doing our best at all times and having good will toward others. This also means not wasting effort on things that harm ourselves and others.

    7. Right Mindfulness. This means being aware of our thoughts, words, and deeds.

    8. Right Concentration. Focus on one thought or object at a time. By doing this, we can be quiet and attain true peace of mind.

In this snippet Bhante describes the 5 Rules of killing, that without all these in place, there is no fault. These are found in the Anguttara Nikaya. He talks about the 3 conditions that must be in place for a monk to accept meat and not have blame. These rules are found in Sutta 55 Majjhima Nikaya. Many other interpretations came later by other sects but the Majjhima Nikaya is thought to be from the original teachings of the Buddha. This is followed by the majority of monks of the Theravada tradition in countries like Burma, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Devadatta, the Buddha's evil cousin tried to introduce Vegetarianism for monks and the Buddha said no. As some one said its what comes OUT of your mouth instead of what goes INTO it.

this guy says - oh if you stop buying meat they will stop killing animals oh it doesn't happen like that.. not in this world.. because this guy says so .. you know why .. because people like these will keep on justifing killings and supporting them .. buddha said love and compassion.. how can you have love and compassion when you feast on dead bodies .. ? anyways these people don't use their own understanding.. they are just blindly following some random famous ancient dude who said something which justified their actions and habits .. above all they neglect the main thing that dude said.. love and compassion.. you can't have that when you kill and feast on dead bodies .. they are just looking for support to satisfy their ego .. and their followers will do the same by following them .. robots..

Buddha's disciples were all Bhikshus ( Origin of BHIKSHU (hindi) he desires, begs ) ,
buddha wanted all his disciples to leave all worldy attachments (also follow his teachings) and beg for food and be content from what they got .. thats why he said if even meat is given which has not been killed for you.. you can eat it .. don't eat any animal which has been killed for you .. or any which you have seen killed .. because that is bad karma .. and buddha didn't liked suffering .. and according to buddha compassion was the way of living.. and if it has been already killed and you accidentally come to it you can eat it.. because his teaching of worldly detachment to find enlightenment .. you must accept anything that is given to you .. because you are a bhikshu and you begged for it .. but if you have seen it being killed or if it has been killed for you .. or if you heard it even scream while being killed.. you shouldn't accept it .. because if its killed for you .. you also become part of bad karma .. and if you heard it scream .. you didn't helped it or even tired .. also bad karma .. as per buddha teachings..

the whole funda was to find detachment from wordly concern .. roam like a bhikshus .. no job .. nothing ..

but that teaching is not followed now.. no monk goes from door to door nowdays .. only some rare do that .. and buddha specifically said don't eat anything that has been killed for you .. because its like going to a party and someone has been killed for you ! bad karma.. or if you see or hear anyone killed .. then also bad karma.. because you didn't helped it .. or tried to save it .. or stop the slaughter .. not even tried ..

so they are not following buddha's teaching.. instead they have twisted it and became lethargic ..

most of these monks etc buy meat from shops, butchers etc.. nowdays rarely anyone goes from house to house.. so .. a butcher/corporation is killing for meat eaters of the whole world.. as many as come and buy his meat.. random people.. so they don't even follow their own buddha rule that don't eat the meat that is killed for you .. as a butcher is killing for all unknown people including monks.. everyone ..butcher is expecting just anyone to pop up and buy the dead body .. its very hypocritic .. these people give pathetic excuses ..

he says.. the animal ..meat was dead in the shop .. so i can buy it.. and then talks about intention.. e.g. --> a dude wants to eat meat.. his brain .. his taste buds.. his mind craved for flesh of another creature.. he wanted another creature slaughtered in the first place.. he couldn't do it himself.. because the dude is so much spiritual and has renounced the world .. so he was waiting for someone else to kill.. and pop up there to buy the flesh of dead body .. intention was that someone else may kill it and i can eat it.. but i ain't gonna do it myself because i'm so spiritual .. blah

all famous spiritual people said we show you path but don't follow us blindly .. don't become like us.. be the unique you..

then some will give excuses that we kill bacteria etc when we breath or kill something else when we eat food and all that stuff.. those beings inside us are meant to be and playing their part..

anyways.. seriously how can someone compare animals with bacteria.. animals have almost same organs that humans have .. + brain and nervous system to feel pain + emotions etc.. and if you are so much concerned abt killing bacteria then stop breathing/eating .. or wait till an alternative to breathing/eating is discovered till then try to change what we can.. try to change what we can.. these people don't even want to change what can be changed and make lives of others better.. in this case.. trillions of animals who die everyday .. and then they give stupid excuse of plant life.. and bacteria..

*then they have a rule if someone is not killed for you .. you can go and eat it .. they are probably afraid that if someone is killed for them they will also get bad karma.. so they are just trying to save their own ass .. if it is not killed for them.. they will all feast upon dead body because now no bad karma for them.. it wasn't killed for us.. yeeee we just accidenly came here ..
according to this monk theory .. if something is not killed for them they can eat it.. but they already got taste for flesh .. so they are already wanted animals to be killed .. so that they can eat them .. their buddha said even if you think of killing someone its a sin.. so they all end up on butcher shops because they wanted someone else to die for them.. even when they have alternatives..

if you hear the scream or saw the killing.. you can't eat it.. because you didn't helped it.. didn't tried to save it .. ignoring sin is also sin.. so its bad karma too ..

some will say oh you kill insects by insecticides etc.. well use organic material for farming then.. like cow dung etc many still use it.. and btw insects .. and above all how can be people so much dumb? ask youself will you compare yourself to an insect? if yes then also the main thing is about the nervous system and brain.. of animals and humans is similar.. and if people feel compassionate about insects also then thats also cool..don't kill them.. use mosquito nets don't kill mosquito.. be carefull when you walk.. be careful when you farm..

but saying we kill fruits vegetables etc is dumb.. study biology or just observe how fruits fall from tree and rott on the ground to spread seeds.. tree wants you to eat it and spread seeds !
and trees laden with fruits have been since the beginning of humankind.. they pop'd up themselves ..they fell from trees themselves when ripe .. even vegetables.. people just started taking the seeds and planting them in new areas and started farming.. because fruits, vegetables, grains etc were meant to be.. killing animals wasn't meant to be.. that is a choice..

then the teeth excuse.. animals who eat meat .. have the teeth to bite raw meat.. they don't cook .. if you think you are like them.. eat raw meat.. go and run after a cow, goat or even horse and bite it in the butt and see what it does to you.. then you will know whether you were meant to eat meat or not ..

Use alternatives and chose not to harm slaughter is humane.. food chain is for those who don't have a choice.. don't preprogram children into flesh eaters

there is no humane slaughter ! Always put yourself in other people's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too (same goes for animals).
