An analyst says the US sanctions imposed on Iran are "murdering Iranians" in cold blood such as the millions of Iranian patients whose lives are at stake due to the US enforcement of bans and restrictions on medicine sales.
The comment comes as Iran Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi says the White House offer to hold direct talks with Iran is a sign of change in the US administration's approach to Tehran, expressing his optimism in this regard.
Salehi, however, also expressed doubt over the US "new gesture" and said that it was still very hard for Tehran to trust Washington. "How do we trust again this new gesture?" Salehi said on Monday.
