Two Indian soldiers have been killed and one wounded in an alleged gunfight with troops from Pakistan.
A spokesman for the Indian army claimed the body of one of the soldiers was found "badly mutilated" on Indian territory as tensions between the two countries heighten.
Pakistan soldiers are accused of crossing the heavily militarised line dividing the disputed region of Kashmir which is claimed by both nations.
Pakistan's ambassador in New Delhi has been summoned to the Indian foreign office over the killing of two of its soldiers in Kashmir.
Indian officials said Pakistani troops crossed into the disputed region and fired on an army patrol.
Pakistan's military has rejected the claims.
Condemning the killing of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops, senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley said today that India should collect all evidence and "name and shame Pakistan in front of the international community."
