The British government is advising against all but essential travel to Sri Lanka after the bombings on Easter Sunday, which claimed the lives of at least 250 people. The Foreign Office says terrorists are very likely to try to carry out indiscriminate attacks, especially in places visited by foreigners. There are some 8,000 British tourists in Sri Lanka at the moment, and urgent talks are taking place between the government and the travel industry to help people return home.
