Repeated bombings have damaged or destroyed a great deal of the country's infrastructure, including water and sewage facilities, as malnutrition and poor sanitation are making people more vulnerable to diseases.

Michael Cruickshank, an independent journalist who writes about defense and the arms trade, says a US-made bomb was used by Saudi Arabia in the air attack that killed 51 people, including 40 children, in north Yemen last week.
