|Military flying display over Paris for the traditional 14 July celebrations |
France and Francophiles from around the world celebrate the country's national holiday on 14 July.
The day marks the storming of the Bastille prison by revolutionaries in 1789, signifying the start of the French Revolution.
The main event is a military parade in Paris attended by Francois Hollande, special guests and other political leaders.
Some 4,000 soldiers, policemen and firemen are involved in the parade on the famous Champs-Élysées.
