A ground operation in the Gaza Strip has been launched by Tel Aviv following more than a week of Hamas shelling the country and the IDF responding with air strikes.
More than 20 Palestinian people have been killed since Israel launched its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip overnight, according to the Palestinian health authority.
Hundreds of Palestinians have been wounded.
At a hospital in Gaza City, Amar Dawoud, whose five-year-old son was hurt when his house was hit, told reporters: "70 or 80 people had moved to our house looking for sanctuary. They struck us," he said.

Gaza city was rocked by a sequence of air strikes on Friday morning, as Israel began a ground offensive into the densely populated strip of 1.8 million Palestinians. The barrage of air, sea, and ground attacks has already claimed the lives of 259 and injured over 1900 people. Al Jazeera's Nicole Johnston reports from Gaza.
