Sanctions imposed over the crisis in Ukraine have some worried about the future of the Atlas 5 rocket. Widely used by the US government and private firms to launch satellites into space, the rocket's engine is designed and manufactured in Russia. After the West imposed sanctions on Russia over its supposed involvement in the affairs of Ukraine, Russia hit back with its own sanctions barring the further purchase of the MK-33 and RD-180 engines by the US military. Discussing with RT's Lindsay France the implications of the sanctions on space exploration is Michael Johnson, chief technology officer at NanoRacks.
