Between 1975 and 2008 the state of Oklahoma in the United States recorded less than six earthquakes. But since then the annual number of quakes in Oklahoma has increased dramatically - to the extent that in 2013 the state experienced 109 earthquakes measuring a magnitude of 3.0 and above, a level strong enough to shake objects inside a home.
