Sectarian violence in Iraq has contniued at alarming levels in February 2014. The army continues to battle ISIS in Anbar province, particularly around Fallujah and Ramadi, and the almost daily bomb blasts, gun attacks and suicide missions have been happening with deadly regularity.
Civilians are being killed en masse with increasing criticism of the government over its failure to protect the citizens of Iraq. Baghdad has once again been the centre of the violence in a month that led to the deaths of 930 people, taking the total for 2014 to over 2,000.
