The US is threatening to pull all troops out of Afghanistan by the end of 2014, despite an agreement from political leaders and tribal elders to grant immunity to US troops beyond that deadline. If the US pulls out its advisors and trainers, they would leave the Afghan military to deal with Taliban insurgents by themselves, which they are unprepared to do. Although President Hamid Karzai urged the group of leaders, called a Loya Jirga, to support the deal, he said he will leave the signing of it to his successor, who will be elected next April. US National Security Advisor Susan Rice traveled to Afghanistan over the weekend to urge Karzai to sign the deal. RT's Ameera David has more on the implications of a delay in signing the agreement.
