An investigation by Human Rights Watch has revealed that Syrian rebel groups killed at least 190 civilians and seized more than 200 hostages during a military offensive in the Latakia region back in August. And the group believes this is the first evidence of members of the Syrian opposition committing war crimes and crimes against humanity. Two jihadist groups -- the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, and the lesser-known Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar -- are still holding the hostages, the vast majority of who are women and children. Human Rights Watch believes the attacks on civilians were systematic and planned.
