A woman in China narrowly escaped being crushed by a lorry in Ningbo, in the country's eastern Zhejiang province. State television on Thursday broadcast footage filmed recently by traffic cameras, showing the truck smashing into the woman as she crossed a busy road. Police told state TV that the accident happened because the woman ignored a red light as she made her way across the junction in the city's Beilun district. They said the trucker was also to blame, as he accelerated his vehicle to speed through the traffic light just before it turned red.
